Thanks to a semi impromptu work-related happy hour, I found myself in a most pleasant establishment, “The Regal Seagull”. That place deserves a top notch write up of its own, which it will get soon when I get around to it! If you’re in the North San Diego County area, I highly recommend you looking them up. In fact, if you are, let me know and I’ll recommend several great places for you to visit.
Anyway, as I’m looking over the available selections on their menu, my eyes find a curiously named hard cider: the Ginja Ninja cider, by 2 Towns Ciderhouse. As much as I’d like to know all of these amazing cider breweries, I hadn’t heard of these guys yet!
They have a really cool story under the “Our Story” page on their site – basically three childhood buddies who broke their biggie banks and started this awesome venture with all they had.
It’s so cool to see their cider all the way down in Southern California, and I’m sure there’s people all over this great country enjoying it too! One day when I’m up in their neck of the woods I’d love to do a tour of 2 Towns Ciderhouse!
Anyway, back to the cider, one thing I think the guys at 2 Towns Ciderhouse successfully accomplished with this cider is they managed to have a superb, smooth ginger infused cider that doesn’t taste at all like ginger beer. Now I don’t have anything against ginger beer, but it’s nice to taste something unique as the Ginja Ninja is.
It’s a light, easy to drink, smooth ginger hard cider. Should easily please cider drinkers as well as those that just dabble here and there.
