Wyder's Dry Pear Hard Cider Review
yder's Dry Pear Hard Cider is one of three available hard ciders in the Widers Cidery lineup. They also have a Wyder's Dry Raspberry and Wyder's Barrel Aged Series Reposado Pear hard cider. The thing that I particularly struggle with pear ciders is that they tend to be way too sweet for me. I can have one, and enjoy it almost as I would a dessert wine - though not quite at that level. But having more than one glass is a sure way to wake up the next morning with a massive hangover and a major sugar overload. For…

For that matter, Wyder’s Dry Pear Hard Cider does a good job at curbing the sweetness with its dryness. It’s still a bit over the line for me so I wouldn’t want more than one bottle, but that one bottle would be thoroughly enjoyed.

Wyder's Dry Pear Hard Cider Review

Wyder’s Dry Pear Hard Cider

One of the best attributes Wyder’s Dry Pear Hard Cider has to offer is the smell. Go ahead, don’t be shy and stick your nose in that glass for a good strong sniff. The pear comes through beautifully and before you know it you’ll find your nose in there again looking for more. This cider really does have a very pleasant aroma.

The pour revealed a gorgeous bubbly, very light in color cider with little to no head. The only way I can describe my first sip other than saying “this pear cider tastes like pear” is bubble gum. There’s a bubble gum”ish”, jolly rancher inspiration in there somewhere. I shared this bottle of Wyder’s Dry Pear with my wife and mother-in-law, and both felt like it was very similar to having a glass of champagne.
